TOF further samples

Most of my samples so far would be fine to use in my TOF piece if it was to be on a much smaller scale!! The felting I really like but managing this over a 150 cm length would be too unweildy as shrinkage can be difficult to determine with nuno felting.

At the last Smart Arts meeting one of the members who works as a receptionist for a meat exporting company brought along a roll of the elastic tubular casing they use for keeping rolled roasts compact and so I thought I'd have a play with it to see if it hit the right buttons to use in my TOF piece. This piece was felted onto a piece of black pre felt onto a plumbing pipe. The effect is great but once again it would be tiresome over such a big piece. The little plastic loopy bits are wonderful as they of course didn't felt in. Marj

  1. wow - what a find! how brilliant of you to try felting it - do you thing it would work if you felted patches of it, maybe lightly anchored with a few removable stitches?
